All the wealthy had to do was make our politicians wealthy as well so they would change their perspective from public service to self service. If we can get the big money out of politics we "might" have a chance to recover, but the people who can do that are those who are now benefiting from the status quo, so it's highly doubtful we can vote our way out of this mess.

They know we are getting close to tossing them all, which is why they are trying to limit our ability to do so at the ballot box. That might be a deadly mistake for them, as it has been for the ruling class in many previous systems. Guillotines aren't difficult to make.
