AOC, in spite of Republican smear campaigning against her, is a trained economist and leans strongly to MMT macro-econ. Biden has also accepted Dr. Stephanie Kelton to his advisory board and she is the public face of MMT in this country. This gives me hope that America "might" be ready to remove the shackles of the defunct gold standard from its economic policy and, at least attempt to catch up with the rest of the modern world. However, Biden's main qualification to lead the Democratic party appears to be his ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, as he has done several times in his path to the office. This ability is what the party is best known for.
