AOC is doing what she has to do to remain viable to her constituency. She is a degreed economist and fully understands that taxes aren't even a funding mechanism of our federal government although she can't say that out loud without placing herself in opposition to many she will depend upon at some point.

Taxing the rich is simply the anthem of the Democratic party and its only remaining connection to the working class since it adopted market based econ and neoliberalism, placing it in direct competition for donors with the GOP.
