As a very progressive voter I, of course, support Bernie. However, much of that support is shared between him and his economic advisor, Dr. Stephanie Kelton. She opened my eyes to how our economic system actually functions and how it fully enables all of Bernie’s platform agenda in spite of the many misconceptions and outright lies surrounding our perception of how money is created and functions in a modern economy.
If you aren’t familiar with Dr. Kelton or Modern Monetary Theory (as in gravity is still a theory in scientific jargon) I would strongly suggest that you Google her. She is a very accomplished and sought after macro-economist worldwide and has produced a great many YouTube videos of her lectures. She is very personable and takes a lot of the yawn factor out of economics. She and Bernie have been a team for a number of years and she is responsible for much of his economic policy.
Bernie is the only candidate who fully understands how we can both attack the impending challenge of climate change and create an economy that works for everyone with a much richer social capital of education, healthcare, and infrastructure we will need to remain a leader in the world.
