Biden appears to be more concerned with his reputation as a milquetoast middle of the road capitulator than as achieving any great things. His focus on "bipartisanship" in a climate that can only be defined as completely and insanely partisan, thanks to the deeply corrupt McConnell, should be a hint in the outcome of any similar negotiations with his own party members.

$3.5 Trillion is only a feeble attempt to acknowledge progressives in light of the massive bill soon to be due from climate change and the needs of the people. It sends the signal of "nothing will change" to the corporate donors the Democrats have sworn allegiance to rather than attempt to make any course correction that will not be denied much longer, especially in light of the projected ten years of actual payout that, if history is any predictor, will likely extend to fifteen or twenty.
