Biden authored the crime bill. That alone should have prevented most blacks and Latinos from voting for him and should have offered a clue of his true nature to the rest of us. His complete and almost instant capitulation to his neoliberal tendencies has become the signature characteristic of Democratic politicians at every level.

I understand the lesser evil concept, but we have allowed it to threaten our livelihoods and even our lives as the "people's party" continues to ignore our plight in deference to the donor class that makes them far wealthier than their salaries could ever explain. Especially in light of climate change, it is our responsibility now as citizens to decide how long this current rightward trajectory is going to be rewarded and where we draw the line in the sand for Democrats looking for our votes.
