Biden can't disclose the real reason for inflation in this economy because he is a market worshipping neoliberal. The reason for almost all price increases we have seen is simple greed and Democrats don't ever go against their donors to call out their greed beyond showboating theatrics and rhetoric implying that they might actually ask some sacrifice from those donors.

Shareholders will come out of this pandemic much richer than they were before, which goes against the concept of supporting one's country in times of war or disaster. Corporate profits have seen the largest increases since the dotcom era while millions of American workers are struggling, and were even before the pandemic.

Wages are adjusting to the threat of a pandemic for front line workers in all industries, but they are only now regaining a "portion" of what was lost over decades. That genie isn't going back into its bottle and corporations are pre-emptively adjusting prices to assure that no shareholders or CEOs will be harmed.

Their actual costs are not presently at fault for the price increases, nor are the supply chain issues. Most problems in the supply chain are the result of "efficiencies" built into the business model, such as market consolidation and "just in time" inventory management, but they aren't permanent. As this pandemic winds down, which it will eventually, those market forces will come back into play and only the wage increases will remain intact.

The impact of labor alone on pricing is significant, but not enough to justify a 50% net profit increase across all market segments. This is vulture capitalism at its worst and only the corruption of our government via neoliberalism masking as a free market is to blame.
