Capitalism is a good way to distribute resources as long as people remember that democratically distributing resources is, by definition, socialism. Letting banks determine distribution and producers determine pricing is the path to oligarchy. If the price of capitalism is giving up our democratic processes then it is too high to consider.

Capitalism and socialism weren’t foreign concepts to the founders of our nation, and yet neither is mentioned in the documents that form the basis of our law. What is mentioned is the mandate that Congress create the nation’s currency “for the common welfare”. This mandate gives Congress a monopoly patent on the US Dollar as a no-cost commodity to manipulate the economy and regulate banking. Almost all of our recessions and depressions were the result of Congress abdicating that responsibility to the banks and business leadership without regard for the common welfare.
