Capitalists point out that leaders of targeted countries live in luxury while their people go hungry. I find this projection obscene in a nation that subsidizes corporate farmers to grow 40% more food than there is a market for and also cuts programs that allow the poor access to food, such as school lunches or food stamps. No nation that throws away 40% of the food it grows after investing in its production and transport while allowing “any” level of hunger or food insecurity can be called sane.
