Don't blame capitalism because this system has very little resemblance to capitalism. We are experiencing neoliberalism, which simply means that the money supply goes through the top first and only the bare minimum necessary gets passed downward.

Since the top elites already have the money when it is created by Congress they have no incentive to support actual consumer-based capitalism. They are only still around in corporate form to get their next fix of money from Congress that should go to us. If the people need something that can be purchased with dollars, the government first makes sure that there is a "market" established to receive that money first so it can be filtered down to those who need it.

It feels that we are all drug-addled idiots who can't handle simple commerce and just buy what we need. Everything from our healthcare to our retirement and our basic food and shelter must be profitable for some corporate entity or we can't get it and God forbid that we should be allowed to choose those entities by voting with our money. This is how neoliberalism works, and the next step in the natural progression is fascism. Get ready for it.
