But ultimately, his words aren’t real. Whether the product of complete narcissism, lingering unresolved childhood wounds, paralyzing insecurity, or a sense of powerlessness, his words simply aren’t real.

Find a Jewish friend or acquaintance and tell them Hitler’s words weren’t “real”. All the better, and this isn’t hard to do, find one whose family was directly impacted by the genocide. Trump, believe it or not, is not the point. That point is how easily people are manipulated by their own fear, ignorance, and anger. I have many friends and family members who have succumbed to his “words” and it scares the crap out of me because they are otherwise normal adults living and working normal lives. Most of them are quite fine with no reason for grievance, but they suddenly seem fearful of the basic institutions of America and cheer as they are torn apart by this monster.

Instead of neverending posts, arguments, and self-righteous imagined arguments, imagine what our collective conversation would do if every time Trump said something unkind, we showered the world with more kindness.

This has been the common response to the evils of the increasingly threatening right-wing. How is that rainbows and unicorns approach working for us? Considering that we have evolved into the single largest threat to the continued existence of mankind I’d say not well. The left, even when in power, is notorious for being feckless, apologetic, and superficial. What we are facing is now full-on fascism and fascism has never been known to be even minorly slowed by kindness and love in history, but I’m sure this time will be different, right?

I admit to not reading past this point, as the words only served to drain hope for change from me as I again realized what a sorry lot of jelly-like weakness the left really is and how we managed to rush to this very dangerous spot in the historic timeline of our nation in such a short time. For God’s sake, grow a spine and man-up just a little. The future of your children depends upon it. Call a fascist a fascist and do something about it besides meditate.
