Hudson is one of my favorite economists because he feels no compulsion to be nice to con artists and useful idiots. I'd also suggest "The Deficit Myth" by Dr. Stephanie Kelton who worked with Hudson at UNM, Kansas City and Levy Institute as well as Bard.
