I could agree with you concerning the filibuster if I didn't feel that the entire purpose of the Senate is to pervert democracy in favor of the wealthy overlords. Any institution that provides veto power to "land" can hardly be deemed democratic.

There is some credit to be given for not accepting the tyranny of a majority in such a diversified economy and country as ours, but that hardly excuses the extremes to which the GOP has gone to remain in power, or the Democrats to seek cover for their neoliberal corruption.

The political leadership of this country doesn't really understand, even after the misguided farce of Jan 6th, just how desperate the average American is. They should understand that the path for the anger of the "little people" goes through them and that the final outcome may be far less civilized than their pomp and strutting in their larceny. It could be downriight ugly.
