I hope you have a backup career plan. If your boss thinks that defending Obamacare, which even Obama stated was a “stepping stone” to single payer, after the carnage of the last 8 yrs in healthcare you’re going to need one if this is a preview of how Vice President Biden intends to campaign. The obvious outcome of a Biden Presidency will be more marginalization of patients in preserving the insurance industry. Trump already has a lock on voters stupid enough to buy this straw man argument.

Preserving premium based healthcare coverage with little progressive adjustment (largely the fault of red states refusing to adopt expanded Medicaid), is pushing many working class Americans out of coverage, or out of their homes. This is not a choice that any civilized nation forces on its citizens, which explains why America is the last of all wealthy nations to accept the inevitable move to sane policy. We are proving every day that civilized is a term that no longer applies to America.

The failure of Obamacare to address costs is dragging us back into all of the problems you so well articulated. Obamacare turned insurance into a regulated utility where profits are tied to cost, so all incentive to restrain cost increases in the industry are now gone. How’s that workin for ya on your electric bill? It’s time to move to what is already proven successful everywhere it is implemented, single payer. There are zero countries with it that are, or ever will, entertain going to our failed system that is killing people for profit.
