I would support such an amendment if you could explain how taxation can both reduce the debt "AND" be recycled into funding our federal spending. It would be a good trick if you could pull it off, but the math won't let you do so.

It's hardly a surprise that conservatives are now coming out of the woodwork with ramblings about fiscal prudence, or that corporate funded Dems don't push back. The many lies of our monetary system and our currency are neatly tied up in a bundle in your last sentence that makes the erroneous assumption that the monopoly creator of US dollars is in any way like a household or that it should be.

The only change in Republican SOP appears to be the speed at which the carping about federal spending follows a shift in power. I believe you and your fellow Republicans fully understand how it works and are simply perpetuating a myth you find convenient. However, the damage you have done to our economy over your career is immense and should not be left out of any legacy you might leave.
