"If Bernie Sanders was honest, perhaps he would mobilize more of the moderate Liberal vote, but he insists on calling himself a socialist."

Bernie may have called himself a Democratic Socialist but he always campaigned and ran as a Democrat. His one job, which he did splendidly, was attracting the left wing of the Democratic party and Independents, only to eventually leave them with no option except voting for the Democratic nominee when he folded like a cheap lawn chair.

Bernie may actually believe that the corporate neoliberal DNC can be moved to the left, but that is yet without any substantial evidence of being true. Such moves in real policy and administration have never been gained without the threat of disorder or violence and I doubt that will change anytime soon as both major parties are more concerned with protecting the status quo (and their donors) than creating a better society or instituting true justice.
