If the number of CEOs sitting on the boards of companies other than their own was investigated we would see that they have situated themselves between the companies and the shareholders to a degree that was unheard of prior to the '80s. They only exist there to provide a firewall against any salary/benefit cuts and to ensure that their interests are always primary.
