If Trump faced a real "people's" party that offered some concrete benefits in the neoliberal Dems he would never have made it past the RNC primaries. You should place about 70% of the blame for Trump squarely on the corrupt and useless Democrats that are more concerned about privatizing all public service to serve their corporate masters than about a bunch of yokels who only know that their government isn't working for them and grabbed at the only choice offering a change. You will never control the crazy of Republicans if you aren't willing to get a handle on the corruption the Dems shove into our face even today.
