It always surprises me just how undemocratic the self-professed "defenders of democracy" are willing to become to gain their vision of America. Most other countries citizens are shocked when they learn how much power is granted to our Senate and how the two Senator concept, regardless of the population of the states, holds back constructive legislation and any benefit to the people.

When you add in the "winner takes all" election criteria that are the rule in all but two states it is easy to see how the radical right wing GOP holds onto power that essentially negates any action the house may wish to enact. I doubt seriously that America will be able to overcome the rapid rise of fascism with such archaic governing and the advantage it gives to states in determining national policy.
