I've found that when discussing income distribution and its disparity it is important to drill down farther than percentiles. If you look at the distribution in America as it might appear on a football field the vast majority of income doesn't appear until one looks at the 1 ft line.
That small proportion of a 100 yd field is where most wealth is concentrated. 10% takes in too many people to make the proper impression. It also creates the impression that you are out to get 32 million people's money. Yes, the system favors them, but they aren't the cause of our problems.
