My son uses a Raspberry PI system with Linux and a 14in tablet display when he travels. He linked it to his vehicle's onboard cameras and GPS, as well as the ignition and diagnostics so he can disable the vehicle by simply removing the system which is about the size of a brick. The tablet is functional as a stand alone for linking to motel wifi. It won't perform like a powerhouse desktop, but it serves a niche need very well.
