Obama ran on an anti-war, pro-single payer, pro-Social Security expansion platform. Immediately after the election, he expanded Bush's two wars into five, blocked single-payer in favor of the corporate welfare we now call healthcare, and offered Republicans a "grand bargain" on Social Security cuts that the GOP abandoned only because its TEA party faction rejected it.

A lot of people say that the 2010 trouncing of Dems in Congress was a racist backlash, but I believe it was because many voters realized that they were only a different brand of corporate shills and that Obama was only a more accomplished liar and thief. Biden studied with a master and it shows quite clearly that he paid attention. His pick for VP was a signal to the corporate masters of the universe that they had nothing to fear from Obama, and that held true and still does from Biden.

Running the author of the crime bill, in my opinion, was just a thumb to the nose for minorities who have diligently supported the party for decades since the southern strategy. You mentioned the media as complicit in this grand deception and questioned why. Have you seen what the media opinion stars, such as Madow, make? The surest way to enlist someone to the cause of the wealthy is to make them wealthy.
