Once people come to understand that Congress has control of the national purse strings and can afford anything that is for sale priced in US dollars they will begin to believe that we can have nice things without making the wealthy even wealthier.

MMT's best feature is that it makes the wealthy irrelevant to funding the public purpose and a brighter, better future. Irrelevancy is what the wealthy fear most because it negates any need to assure their continued wealth via Congress acting in their favor.
