We need to avoid unnecessary health care costs so that we have the financial resources to pay for necessary health care costs.

One of the most powerful sections of our founding documents is Article 1: Section 8 which gives the ultimate power of the purse to Congress. This same section also mandates that Congress “coin” the currency “for the common welfare” and makes no mention of balanced budgets or debt. Both are little more than accounting entities to track and error check money flows in our dual entry spreadsheet system used worldwide, but have been perverted politically into the service of oligarchs and bankers.

There may be some temporary “real” resource issues of labor and infrastructure involved in moving to a single-payer system, but there will never be an issue of limited “financial” resources at the federal level. As the monopoly patent holder of the US dollar, the federal government can afford anything that is available for sale priced in the dollar it creates at will. America will not see a resurgence of real prosperity or solve any of its pressing problems until it comes to grips with this basic econ reality and gets off “stuck on stupid” rhetoric that falsely applies household budget or gold standard rules to our economy.
