Progressives warned moderate Democrats about Biden, as they did about Hillary in '16.

They control the House, the Senate, and the Presidency. So why are they getting nothing done?

The Democratic party was taken over by neoliberals and their phony henchmen in banking and Wall St. It would now rather lose elections than do anything that would provide for the economic security of average Americans.

American life is a relentless exercise in despair. It’s an unwinnable game.

The less our government does for the people, the more bankers and Wall St can capitalize on doing via private debt. Neoliberalism is the worship of private markets as a solution to all problems in society. The net effect though is just pushing problems down the road while profiting from the cost of doing so. If a market doesn't exist for a worthwhile program for government, neoliberals will invent one and turn it over to Wall St to manage, or they will simply pay it lip service and ignore it.

They’re kept that way so people have to compete with one another, dog-eat-dog.

That fear — the existential fear of just surviving — is used to control Americans.

Exactly! That competition keeps wages low so labor never has a chance to regain control of its own destiny it had prior to the RayGun/Thatcher assault on unions and the false concept of government funded by taxpayers.

It isn't, and never really was, but if the people think "their" money is being misspent (especially on the "others") they will demand a toothless and ineffectual government that is powerless to regulate and tax the corporations and oligarchs. Why else would the GOP ever have been able to win over the majority of working class Americans?

It is always about the economy and wages, but Democrats never really get that and think they can win enough votes from championing social issues, which they never really do anything about out of fear of losing the "issues" themselves as campaign fodder.

Trump still has enough support among women and minorities, who should be almost unanimously Dem voters, to keep Texas and other red states red forever because they are tired of being used by politicians with no intention of helping them economically.

The link between economic ruin and fascism is well-established — Keynes wrote it about a century ago. That is what Biden’s really fighting. America’s fascist collapse, which came about because Americans grew impoverished.

Here's where you make the same mistake that moderate American Democrat voters make. You assume that the "party" is opposed to such a fascist collapse, probably out of the fear of admitting there is no one that has our back. By making that assumption you are denying evidence from decades of failure and capitulation, probably since Johnson left office. He was the last Democrat in the White House to "control" his party and fend off the gnat like politicians that had delusions of grandeur because they had corporate backing.

There are no good guys on the left with any real power to ward off that collapse. It is going to happen and it is going to be ugly. The best hope currently may be the establishment GOP, like Romney or Cheney, regaining enough favor to keep the fascists moderated, if not at bay. It certainly won't be Biden, or any of the corporate Dems now in control of the DNC and his administration.
