Stating that masks with valves offer no protection to others is not entirely correct. The valves direct the exhale downward instead of just allowing it to be scattered straight ahead of the wearer. That exhaled breath has also been filtered through the mask filter, so it should be considerably less contaminated than simply doing without unless it is the wearer that is producing the contamination.

I have N95 masks with two valves and I intend to continue using them regardless of any regulation my idiot representatives may come up with. Getting this virus would be a death sentence for me, so it wouldn't be wise to attempt to increase my odds of contracting it. If I have to die because we have a mentally deficient madman in the white house I'll be more than happy to take someone with me.
