The Democratic party is now just a sham to enable crony capitalists. The Republican party continues to move to the right, now with only full blown fascism left on that horizon, to allow the Democrats to occupy the space just to their left as the only alternative to that fascism and the crazy Trump so proudly represented.

We are now only a couple of election cycles away from the demise of the last generation to have experienced a truly 'great" economy and the influence of labor unions as a positive force in the economy. Without both as a benchmark from which to compare future standards America will have erased the New Deal and its protections of the working class completely.
