The DNC gives lip service to progressive, but it is well known as the graveyard where progressive policy goes to die. Google "Eisenhower platform 1954" and then tell me both parties haven't shifted rightward in lock step. You might also want to research neoliberalism and the "Powell memo" and see if there aren't some familiar coincidences with the "liberal" Democratic party.
