The end goal of the GOP is the neutering of the federal government's ability to regulate and tax business. They continually promote the concept of our "evil" government and then spend their careers in that government proving that concept by defunding and destroying any potential for doing good and the common welfare.

This concept of a democratically elected government as the "enemy" of the people is what Trump preached, just as RayGun did, with constant references to "the swamp" and promoting every rumor he came across that reinforced his agenda. His ability to attract an audience is our national embarrassment. I didn't actually think there were that many idiots before he had a chance to prove his ineptitude, much less after it was common knowledge. I guess I was too wrapped up in the drama of the DNC and its corruption to notice that, yes, average Americans really are that stupid.

The one thing about a working democracy is "you always get the government you deserve". Thinking of the third of the population that supported him and the close to 50% of voters that really were that stupid doesn't give me much hope for a future here. Sadly, the only ones dumber than the voters were the Democratic party's leadership that lost to him once and almost did it a second time. I don't think we have seen the last of him yet.
