The people of the US understand that we are leaving unimaginable carnage in our wake in the Mid East and Africa, often killing and maiming the babies they claim to protect (as long as they aren’t brown). They also understand that the purpose isn’t to bring “freedom and democracy” to the people of those countries. They know, even if they won’t admit it, that the purpose is to support the regional control of the Saudis and Israel and to poke the Russian bear at every opportunity. Those are just the comfortable lies they tell themselves to sustain their sanity while their government totally loses its own.

When the picture of the little Vietnamese girl running away from a napalm attack with her skin hanging from her body appeared our nation said “No more of that”. Not the napalm. The war machine even invented a new and improved version called white phosphorus to rain down on children with disregard for optics. They said no more to allowing any pictures of death and destruction to escape into the wild of the media. The human brain rejects such horrible thoughts and if no pictures exist it will accept the sterilized version of war the media projects into the collective consciousness.
