The problem with being a Democrat seeking office is that there are so few actual Democrats willing to vote for anyone who doesn’t check their particular favorite box. One can find any number of quotes attesting to the similarity of managing the Democratic party to herding cats.

The Clintons, both Bill and Shill, said to hell with all of that human rights and environmental nonsense and just went for a moderate Republican agenda. The voters on the left were left with no choice since the two-party system at the state level isn’t about to let another party into their sandbox, making the rules as they go along. Until Bernie challenged Her Heinous there was never a real threat to the neoliberal agenda that suited the donor class regardless of which party actually won.

What the pundits and most voters are missing about the trouncing of Shillary in ’16 is that she was beaten, not only by a longtime well-known conman but also from her left. I don’t really know if any Republicans voted for her, although it is doubtful since Republicans fall in line, not in love, but I bet many were wondering why their party was running a liberal for President. As it turned out, he was lying about everything except immigration, but that doesn’t change the fact that a Dem Presidential candidate got beaten from the anti-war, anti-wealthy left flank.

For progressives, the fear of what Trump might do wasn’t sufficient to overcome the fear of what we knew Killery would do, because she never stopped doing it. Whether the Democratic party is ruled by her as President, or indirectly by her money and criminal activity makes no difference. If she is allowed to retain control of the party it will die on the vine without us. I hate everything that Trump stands for, but I hate the duplicity of her worse and know that the devil we can see and protest is the preferred choice over the one who is only known by the results of their actions in hindsight. Her fingerprints are all over everything that is wrong with America presently.
