The two "sides" are too evenly divided to ever see the required support for such drastic action. There is also the little matter of "who gets the power of creating the US dollar?" That critical part of the economic structure is already sorely abused and surrounded by well-funded myths propagated by conservatives and neoliberals alike. We certainly can't have the "poors" understanding that their condition is a "political" choice, not economics.
