These same people were those who said we should send moving vans, not food, to Somalia and other places where things don't grow. Of course, they wanted none of those moving vans destined to "their" neighborhoods, regardless of the support they gave to the causes of the people's plights.
As warmer air keeps more water aloft, many areas will experience drought and the former "breadbaskets" where reliable snow and rainfall are assumed will become deserts. Conversely, when airborne moisture is released many regions will be wracked by violent weather and flooding. Even the most vocal climate change deniers can't argue with evidence of shifting weather patterns. Getting them to accept responsibility or do anything about it is another matter.
