You can have Bernie or you can have Trump.

This may be effective “if” Bernie is shown by the media to actually have the support he does, and “if” the DNC actually wants the Presidency more than they want to preserve its neoliberal control under Third Way Democrats. My fear is that they will choose Trump and use whatever means they can, or need to, including collusion with the corporate media to misrepresent the real support he has among voters.

We already see examples of the media’s preference and its bias against him in the most blatant examples of voter manipulation since they blacked him out in ‘15-’16. CNN polls that completely ignore/exclude Bernie’s major support demographics? MSNBC pundits that claim he “makes their skin crawl”? Major polls that just “forget” that Bernie is running, or political commentary that skips over the fact, completely failing to mention his standing? Tamping down expectations is the first step to “fixing” elections as the results come in matching expectations, so we know what the next step will be as state party loyalists that run elections perform their magic disappearing candidate act.

Bernie or Bust is a real threat to be taken seriously, but it is also an awareness campaign to shake voters out of their apathetic assumption that the party will play fair since being exposed and cause them to see the things that are obvious to those of us who are more engaged in the process. When the party leadership shows any sign of calling out the media manipulations for the corruption they are we “may” stand down a bit, but probably not. It’s only the future of mankind on the planet at stake.
