This would be far from the first time I have called Bernie a liar. Just because a politician is our best choice doesn't make him/her perfect. He even had the top MMT economist as his advisor and couldn't bring himself to tell the truth. It's not like he was actually going to win, so he might as well have offered a glimmer of reality to his followers instead of ignoring what his advisor told him for some purpose that never included being President.

As far as saving money with M4All, that is a given but it also isn't required of the Federal government to provide the most efficient means to an end. Every debt is someone else's asset and the money created to fund the program would be no exception. The problem becomes one of simple accounting when the States must fund such expensive programs out of tax collections.

The Federal government is the monopoly issuer of the US dollar, and as such, always has an unlimited supply of them to deploy/direct resources in the private sector. It needs no "funding" for its spending, and taxation and borrowing are both dependent upon the prior creation of money, not the reverse.
