We are falling so far behind in our ability to see cascading cause and effect relationships to our technology that we soon may well find that technology superior to predict outcomes and govern accordingly. We already have economic modeling programs that can accurately predict the business cycle if the input is accurate and sufficient. They dispense with ideology and forced presumptions that give humans great comfort, so their use will always be limited to an advisory capacity into which humans will inject their preferred distortions.
