We badly need some mechanism for the house to override a Senate vote, or its failure to even vote on legislation from the house. When Dems gain a majority in the house Republicans can always count on, at least, a bare minority in the Senate. The Senate was designed to be anti-democratic and it is where Republicans find it easiest to apply their damage to our government, which accomplishes their ultimate goal of a toothless federal government that cannot regulate business or properly tax its owners.
