We have allowed our system to morph from capitalism into fascism. I doubt that the fascists that profit so much because they are given free access to our government will ever allow it to be changed in any significant measure democratically. Why would they? If they had the ability to care about the people they would not be fascists.

Congress makes decisions that benefit the fascists over the citizens in about 85% of its legislation, leaving only 15%, mostly social issues, not economic, that actually benefits the people who sent those representatives to Washington.

Those are not odds that any sane person would wager on, but we knowingly accept them from our government and hold out hope that the next champion that campaigns on changing them will be the "ONE", only to watch them succumb to the wealth available by becoming fascist enablers themselves.

Because our system requires the representatives of the people to legislate their own rules into law this will not be changed by our voting, although that is getting to be a luxury only afforded to the relatively wealthy as well. Democracy didn't fail us; we failed democracy. Even a broken dictator is right twice a day and that appears to be the last shred of hope many Americans are clinging to. The only other option is even lesser odds in a bloody revolt. None of us is as stupid as all of us.
