We must find our “tribe” before it’s too late.

We, the left and center left, have too many tribes already and are evidently comfortable enough to make our single issue politics the driving force in our lives. Perhaps a collapse/depression is what we need to bring those tribes together into a cohesive force that can defeat the fascism that has been the dominant factor in the politics of the right and aided by the neoliberalism of the political left.

We saw this after the great depression as FDR forged a new path for America with the New Deal that endured until Reagan replaced it with the false promise of trickle-down. Desperate people can come together much easier than the comfortable, as their "tribe" doesn't stand in the way when survival is on the line.
