We shouldn't get lost in the zero-sum accounting of global finance and forget the fact that Russia is very wealthy in "real" resources. Anything it lacks can be easily supplied via its association with China and Russian citizens will not be subjected to any hardships as a result of its actions.

There is nothing that America, or the powers behind the EU, can do to change that and their sanctions are actually a boost to the real living standard of the average Russian. America may be exposed as the imperialistic paper tiger that it has become due to its catering to its ruling oligarchy class that makes profits from suffering and resource theft around the world, including within its own borders.
