When we mistake the unit of measuring wealth for actual wealth it is only natural that we frivolously burn through the real wealth our planet provides. The economics of scarcity will incentivize this by keeping scarcity profitable.

Collectively, we can afford anything that can be resourced. However, we love our chains and prefer to place value in them as a way to measure our individual success, even as we destroy the purpose of a currency in the process via myths and false narratives.

Your writing is on point and defines our foolishness. Thank you for that, but I'm afraid the lure of the false god of wealth is bigger than the logic it defies. People prefer their imagined status over their ability to secure their own survival if it means any collective action is required. The first victim of our demise, as we have clearly seen, is our social bonds.
