While I agree that the Democratic party is the place where any real change goes to die and that isn't going to change under the current power structure, I don't believe any true leftist would ever join the RNC and its fascist wannabes. Leftists believe that government can be a force for the betterment of society and solve many problems that the reichwing Republican party has caused.

The Republican party will have none of that and would overthrow its democratically elected government just for something to do on a weekend. If it understood what fascist means its members would realize they R one. The party found its people among those who historically have rejected both science and history, a requirement to believing its base tenets in economics, among the religious and anti-government fanatics.
